Tuesday Meeting stresses on the importance of technology in traffic control
Investment fund to support the strategy of the Committee on Traffic Safety in the Eastern Region
Member of the Board of the Saudi Association for traffic safety and the road safety engineer Sultan Bin Hamud Al-Zahrani presented investment initiatives during a meeting Tuesday organized by the Chamber Headquarters Tuesday 3 June 2014, most notably contributing to the first-aid centers specializing in traffic accidents and create arenas for sports cars and motorcycles.
AlZahrani reaffirmed during the meeting which saw the attendance of President Abdulrahman bin Saleh Al-otaishan, Secretary General of the Chamber Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah Al-wabil in the presence of members of the Board of Directors and businessmen interested in the region that would be comprehensive ambulatory centers providing training for national personnel to provide services on a high level of performance. AlZahrani said in the interview that the traffic safety Committee chaired by the Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province Prince Fahad Bin Abdulaziz bin Msaed and Technical Committee headed by Saudi Aramco, and the membership representative of each Government Department is fully prepared to run the centers serve safe driving education outcomes for 5 years to 10 years, adding that the region needs to model leadership learning centers to improve output and also sports arenas with capacities of young people and to the path of positive as well as the development of traffic engineering consulting firms.
AlZahrani reaffirmed that an investment fund has been established in the name of (road safety) to receive financial support from the business so that the Commission can continue to work to implement plans that reflect the aspirations of the people of the region to eradicate more negatives that occur daily on roads in the region and in which large numbers of young people.Al Zahrani said that Saudi Arabia bleed annually 7,000 deaths and 39 thousand injured, including the 2000 block, pointing out that the Committee had completed the formulation of a comprehensive strategy of the Commission and approved by the Ministry of the Interior, which implemented a number of projects and programs, that would reduce the number of deaths and injuries, adding that the strategy will provide the 8 billion over the next 10 years, the cost of accidents and of projects that are planned,
The Commission implemented Al Zahrani many initiatives that contribute to the improvement of traffic where service has adopted an annual award for traffic safety 'award for the eastern region for the perfect driver, a bag for all grades and stages of training boys and girls from kindergarten to third-grade primer and secondary traffic safety assets, and the preparation of three competitions for traffic safety schools for boys and girls in the region, and was targeted more than 800 thousand students, producing more than 15 films and clips about traffic safety, awareness and training Traffic and road security with advanced courses on the investigation of accidents and first aid, and a Saudi Aramco Chair for traffic safety on University and student clubs for traffic safety in universities and institutes in the eastern region, and create gardens for traffic safety, and also sponsored the campaign (allah yatek khayrha).
Alzahrani pointed that the statistics showed a decrease of 2.3 percent of total deaths, with the toll fell by 6.8 percent in the year 1434, statistics showed that deaths by province, with incidents of Ahsa, Qatif 30.5 percent followed by 12.7 percent and then Batin 12.3 percent. Finally President Abdulrahman otaishan honored Al Zahrani with Memorial shield.
